Analysis of Cinnamon Twig Decoction with the Combination of Drugs

Abstract

|
n oriental medical prescription, there is a theory about combimation of drugs, as we call ¡®seven emotions¡¯, referring to seven different effects in compatibility of ingredients. It gives ground idea in composing and analysing prescription. Cinnamon Twig Decoction is from ¡®Treatise on Febrie and Miscellaneous Diseases¡¯ written by Chang Ji of the Han dynasty, one of the most influential medical classics in oriental medicine. It is composed of Cinnamon Twig, Peony, Fresh Ginger, Licorice Root and Chinese-date. And it is one of the most famous prescription for relieving exterior syndrome.
In this article, I will analyze Cinnamon Twig Decoction in the viewpoint of drugs-combination and summarize their meaning.
